Edd Hetherington acts in successful school transport appeal

On 31 March 2017, Edd Hetherington acted on a pro bono basis for a group of parents from North Petherton, in Somerset, who had appealed against a decision to cut school transport for their children. Somerset County Council had determined that a safe route to school existed for the children, who would have been required to walk almost 3 miles, including crossing the Huntworth Roundabout at junction 24 of the M5. An appeal under s508B of the Education Act 1996 went before an independent panel and Edd represented all of the appellant parents. The panel upheld the appeal, ensuring that buses will continue to be provided by the Council for the 70 children affected.
