Albion Chambers was established over 100 years ago and has an excellent reputation across the Western Circuit for integrity, approachability and the highest quality of advice and advocacy.

Chambers is led by Charles Hyde QC and has 65 barristers including five Queen’s Counsel. There are three door tenants, all of whom are Queen’s Counsel.

Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence

Albion Chambers offers a small but specialised team dealing with personal injury and clinical negligence work. The team has experience in a broad spectrum of litigation in this field ranging from small claims to substantial catastrophic injury cases.

Regulatory, including Health and Safety

Members of Albion Chambers have substantial experience in the conduct of cases encompassed by the regulatory sector. Our group of practitioners is drawn from various disciplines, bringing together a wealth of expertise to ensure our clients receive the appropriate specialist advice.

Our barristers prosecute and defend in actions brought by a wide range of regulators. These include the Health and Safety Executive, Department of Work and Pensions, Environment Agency, Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Office for Standards in Education, Care Quality Commission, the Office of Rail Regulators and numerous local authorities. Some of our practitioners are also involved in advising on the development and implementation of policy.

Inquest

Albion Chambers has an experienced inquest team offering approachable and experienced practitioners at all levels of seniority. We provide professional representation and advice at all stages of the inquest process, including advice as to early contact with the coroner and issues of disclosure, representation at pre-inquest reviews and advocacy at inquests both with and without juries. Our early involvement can ensure effective legal arguments being raised in relation to whether or not a jury is required, whether the provisions of Article 2 are engaged, and other legal matters which will have a significant effect on the inquest proceedings.
