Regulatory, including Health and Safety
Members of Albion Chambers have substantial experience in the conduct of cases encompassed by the regulatory sector. Our group of practitioners is drawn from various disciplines, bringing together a wealth of expertise to ensure our clients receive the appropriate specialist advice.
Many areas of regulatory law such as health and safety are well publicised and are of general application to a large number of commercial organisations and individuals alike. Other areas are as highly specialised as the activities they regulate.
Our barristers prosecute and defend in actions brought by a wide range of regulators. These include the Health and Safety Executive, Department of Work and Pensions, Environment Agency, Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Office for Standards in Education, Care Quality Commission, the Office of Rail Regulators and numerous local authorities. Some of our practitioners are also involved in advising on the development and implementation of policy.
Those we represent include multi-national corporations as well as individuals and professionals who have found themselves the focus of the Regulators’ attention.
The requirement on public bodies to provide regulatory frameworks, and the resulting burden that falls on companies, large and small, is ever-increasing. We provide frequent training to both regulatory bodies and solicitors involved in this fast-changing sector. Please contact the Chambers Director, Paul Fletcher, to discuss our in-house training programmes.
Please contact Nick Jeanes, our Regulatory Team Clerk, for more information about the team, to retain Counsel or discuss fees.
Many members of Albion Chambers are licensed to undertake work under the direct Public Access Scheme, please click here for a list of public access barristers and to read more about our public access services.
