Overview
Allen joined the family team in June 2025 after relocating back to the area from the South East of England. Allen spent the last five years developing a broad civil and family practice before deciding to specialise in family law.
He is happy to be instructed for representation and paperwork in all areas of matrimonial finance and private law children matters. He is additionally seeking to develop his practice in TOLATA and Schedule 1 matters and welcomes instructions in these areas.
He represents families at all stages in cases and proceedings for financial remedies and private children matters, as well as applications under the Family Law Act 1996 for occupation and non-molestation orders.
Before becoming a barrister, Allen was a strategic consultant specialising in branding projects with government, corporate, and third sector clients. This professional background means that, as well as his strong advocacy skills, he is focussed on client care and has a high level of commercial awareness.
Allen is sensitive to the challenging emotions which often arise when working in family law. His clients describe him as easy to talk to, and he uses his calm and reassuring manner to help them to see past the difficult emotional aspects of their situation and to reach agreement whenever possible.
Where matters can’t be resolved, Allen is a strong, natural advocate in Court and will pursue his client’s interests with focus and determination.
When not in the office, Allen leads an active lifestyle, playing basketball in the winter and cricket in the summer.
