Our Crime Team is one of the largest and most highly respected on the Western Circuit. The breadth of the team, which includes 2 King’s Counsel, enables us to undertake prosecution and defence work across the spectrum, from early advice to the Supreme Court.
While we have practitioners who cover every aspect of criminal work, we also have specialists in fraud, sexual offences, murder, and regulatory crime. Many of the team also practice in other complementary areas of law including judicial review, inquests and disciplinary actions against the police and prison services. A number of our team also sit as Recorders, Deputy District Judges and on various Tribunals.
The team is supported by our widely respected clerking team who offer a wealth of experience to help you find the best barrister for your case. We recognise the importance of continuity, and we make every effort to avoid late returns. When changes of representation do occur, their experience means that the clerks are able to draw on a substantial pool of expertise to ensure a consistent level of representation with no impact on the client.
Our work is predominantly in the South West of England and South Wales but we are able to undertake work across the country. We accept private and publicly funded instructions, and some members of the team are accredited to accept cases under the Public Access Scheme.
Continuing education, internal and external, is important to us. We run programmes of seminars, together with in-house training sessions and are accredited CPD providers. Please contact our Chambers’ Director, Nick Jeanes for further information.
