There have been barristers practising from Albion Chambers since 1843.

We are proud of our excellent reputation across the Western Circuit for integrity, approachability and the highest quality of advice and advocacy.

Chambers is led by Richard English and has 72 barristers including three King’s Counsel. There are five door tenants, two of whom are King’s Counsel.

Situated in the centres of Bristol and Taunton, Albion Chambers is very close to all local courts.

We recognise the importance of high levels of service to our professional and lay clients. We were the first set of chambers in Bristol to be awarded Bar Mark, the Bar Council’s quality standard and were proud to be awarded the Legal Services commission’s standard; Quality Mark in 2003.

Our teams of committed specialists practise throughout the South West, and beyond. They provide clear, strong, expeditious and practical advice and representation. Our highly-skilled support staff offer friendly and efficient service to professional and lay clients.

Continuing education, internal and external, is important to us. We run programmes of seminars, together with in-house training sessions and are accredited CPD providers. Please contact our Chambers’ Director, Nick Jeanes for further information.

We provide suitable facilities to meet the needs of all clients who use chambers’ services.

Our facilities include:

  • Fully networked Meridian Law Connected software with remote access
  • Full email and internet access for all members, pupils and administration
  • Telephone and videoconferencing
  • Six dedicated conference rooms
  • Television and video
  • Data projection equipment
  • Extensive library facilities for all specialist practice areas
  • Wireless internet access available in conference facilities

While making every effort to accommodate all our clients, the age and style of our buildings unfortunately limit full disabled access. Clients with particular requirements are requested to contact us in advance of any visit to check if our facilities can accommodate their needs so that alternative arrangements may be made in advance. Please note that we are unable to offer lavatory facilities to wheelchair users. In the event of difficulty, we are happy to attend conferences at solicitors’ offices or other suitable venues.

We regularly review the facilities we offer to our members, staff and clients. Feedback from those who use our services is always welcome and taken into consideration during these reviews.

This site is intended to provide a summary of the services offered by our barristers, pupils and administration team. To find out more click on the relevant links.

Solicitors may use this site to send emails directly to our tenants and clerks, although instructions must please be submitted via the clerks. We encourage all case papers to be delivered in electronic format as we are a largely paperless organisation.

Please contact our Chambers Director, Nick Jeanes, or any other member of the administration team if you have any questions about our services that are not covered by this website.
