    Charles joined Chambers in October 2023 following successful completion of his Family Law pupillage.

    He now specialises in Private Law, Domestic Abuse and Matrimonial Finance cases while looking to develop his practice in all areas of relationship breakdown, including Schedule 1 applications and the application of TOLATA within Matrimonial Finance.

    In private law, Charles appears for parents and guardians at all stages of proceedings in disputes over child arrangements, specific issues, prohibited steps orders and enforcement. His experience includes multi-day fact-finding and contested final hearings. Charles has conducted cases involving international elements, complex medical conditions and allegations of Fabricated and Induced Illness.

    Charles represents applicants and respondents in applications for non-molestation orders and occupation orders. His personable nature helps clients feel at ease while going through emotional challenges these proceedings present.

    In Matrimonial Finance, Charles is developing a reputation for being a calming presence and ably supporting his clients through emotionally challenging proceedings. His experience extends to jurisdictional disputes where the appropriate forum has been disputed.

    Notable Cases

    A v B [2025] EWFC 377 (B), in which Charles successfully represented the wife in opposing the husband’s application to stay the English divorce proceedings in favour of proceedings in Egypt, with the court finding England to be the natural forum.

    M v M, a multi-issue fact-finding hearing in which Charles represented the mother, resulting in findings of significant physical, sexual and coercive-control abuse by the father.

    D v D, a fact-finding hearing in which Charles represented the mother, securing findings of physical abuse and the father’s associations with criminal gangs, highlighting serious risks to the child and informing the court’s protective measures.

    L v P, in which Charles represented the respondent to a TOLATA claim, successfully resisting claims for the reimbursement of mortgage payments and home improvement costs under equitable accounting.
