    Henry joined Albion Chambers in May 2025. He is undertaking a specialist criminal pupillage under the supervision of Edd Hetherington, whilst he trains as a Naval Barrister.

    With a distinguished background as a Royal Navy officer, Henry brings unique experience to his developing criminal practice. A notable highlight of Henry’s career was his role during a medical incident on HMS FORTH, involving the temporary commanding officer. In recognition of his decisive actions, Henry was awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), underscoring his capacity for clear judgment under duress.

    Henry’s transition to the Bar is driven by a desire to apply his considerable experience within the legal framework. His decade as an officer has given him a profound understanding of people and operational contexts.

  • Crime

    Henry is keen to develop his criminal practice, wishing to gain experience across the full spectrum of offences, including Regulatory matters in which he has a keen interest. He has previously undertaken marshalling at Portsmouth Crown Court and observed both Magistrates’ and Crown Court cases.

    Having volunteered for the Tall Ships Youth Trust since his mid-teens, working with disadvantaged or disabled young people, Henry offers an insightful approach to those cases involving vulnerable lay clients and witnesses.

  • Courts Martial and Service Law

    As a Divisional Officer, Henry has gained experience supporting individuals through the court martial process. He completed a four-day acquaint at the Service Prosecution Authority and is keen to expand his knowledge and understanding in this area.
