Overview
Mia joined Albion Chambers in October 2026, following the successful completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Alec Small, Gemma Borkowski and Joanna Lucas.
Mia has a broad practice in Crime and Family Law. Mia is a CPS Grade 1 Panel Advocate and is instructed to prosecute and defend in the Magistrates’ and Crown Court. Mia accepts instructions in all areas and at all stages of private family law proceedings, including matrimonial finance, private child and Family Law Act proceedings.
Prior to joining Chambers, Mia studied Law at the University of Bristol, graduating with First Class Honours. Mia was awarded a Jules Thorn Scholarship to study the Bar Training Course, alongside which she studied a Master of Laws in Family Law and Employment Law. On the completion of the Bar Training Course, Mia received the Certificate of Honour acknowledging her academic performance.

Mia represented the applicant wife. At FDR, the court agreed with Mia in giving an indication that the case should be settled on the terms of the wife’s open offer, and that the sharing principle should be applied.

Secured a conviction after trial in the Magistrates’ Court of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, committed by the Defendant against his father.
R -v- JR
Successfully persuaded the court to impose a suspended sentence order in a case involving multiple breaches of a SHPO and notification requirements. Defendant had multiple previous convictions for similar offences, and the pre-sentence report assessed D is having a very high risk of reoffending.
