  • Overview

Rob joined the family team in Chambers in October 2023 after relocating back to the area from East Anglia.

In East Anglia, Rob undertook a common law pupillage at and practised from a large regional Chambers. Since completing pupillage, he has focussed his practice on the full range of family law work.

Prior to commencing pupillage, Rob worked as a Welfare Benefits Adviser for Norfolk Community Law Service where he gained extensive written and oral advocacy experience before both the First-tier Tribunal (Social Entitlement Chamber) and the Upper Tribunal (Administrative Appeals Chamber).

Rob also gained experience in advising on private law children matters through his voluntary work with BPP Law School Family Law Clinic in London.

Rob accepts instructions in private law and public law cases, financial remedy cases and Family Law Act 1996 cases.

In private law cases, Rob has experience of representing parties at all hearings. His experience includes multi-day fact-finding hearings and final hearings and cases involving allegations of abuse and capacity issues.

In public law cases, Rob frequently represents Local Authorities and parents at all hearings. His recent experience includes representing a Local Authority at a multi-day final hearing in which threshold was based on allegations of neglect. Rob was successful in securing Care and Placement Orders in respect of the child.

Rob’s financial remedy experience includes advising and representing parties at all hearings, in cases involving substantial personal and business assets. Rob has negotiated a number of successful outcomes for clients both at the First Appointment and at the Financial Dispute Resolution Appointment.

Rob consistently receives positive feedback from clients on his attention to detail, care, and ability to explain and advise in complex cases in plain and simple terms.

Rob is keen to encourage the next generation of aspiring Barristers into the career. At his previous Chambers, Rob was Head of Mini-Pupillage. He is also a mentor for law students at the University of East Anglia. Rob has frequently judged mooting and mock trial competitions.

In his spare time, Rob enjoys reacquainting himself with the local area with his family. He also enjoys following American college football and is an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide following his year abroad in the state during his Law degree.
