Albion Chambers are immensely proud to confirm the appointment of Kate Brunner KC to the High Court Bench. Kate will take up her appointment in the King’s Bench Division on the 17th November 2025. This is the first such appointment for a member of Albion Chambers since Chambers was first established in 1843.

Kate, who was called to the Bar in 1997, joined Albion in 2002 and took silk in 2015.

Kate set up the Western Circuit Women’s forum in 2015 and was Leader of Circuit from 2019-2022. Other notable achievements in Kate’s career include the fact that more recently she chaired the Isle of Man Covid Review between 2022 and 2024.

Head of Chambers Richard English stated that, “Kate’s appointment, whilst mightily impressive, will not come as any great surprise to those that have worked with Kate during her illustrious career at the Bar. Kate always has been a star, whether as a junior or in silk, and her appointment to the High Court Bench is a testament to this fact.”

Chambers Director Nick Jeanes added that “We are extremely grateful for all of the support that Kate has provided us at Albion over the last 23 years. This extraordinary achievement is so thoroughly deserved by Kate.”
