Edd Hetherington secures unanimous acquittal following nine-week trial.
Following a 9-week trial in the Crown Court at Bristol, Edd Hetherington’s client was unanimously found not guilty by a jury of conspiring to fraudulently evade excise duty worth over £800,000 on imported and counterfeit tobacco products. Three other men were convicted of the same offence and others had previously admitted their guilt. During the course of the investigation over 1.3 million illicit cigarettes and 1.2 tonnes of hand-rolling tobacco was seized.
